This 38 cm handcrafted ruler is a decorative collectible inspired by traditional Chinese cultural motifs and historical measurement tools. Crafted from naturally weathered jujube wood, it features a precise four-sided rectangular form with intricate surface carvings on all faces.
Each side displays classical Chinese artistic elements: stylized inscriptions derived from historical texts, symbolic patterns referencing the Eight Trigrams (Bagua), celestial constellations associated with ancient Chinese astronomy, and ornamental characters rooted in literary and scholarly traditions.
Made using time-honored woodworking techniques, the piece showcases fine grain detail and smooth, polished finishes. The dense, durable jujube wood is valued for its rich coloration and natural resilience — a material long appreciated in Chinese furniture, carving, and artisanal object-making.
As a non-functional decorative item, it serves as an elegant display piece for collectors of East Asian art, history enthusiasts, or those who appreciate finely executed traditional craftsmanship. Its balanced proportions and detailed engraving reflect centuries of aesthetic refinement in Chinese decorative arts.
